Callas

Logline: Three Sisters, One Funeral, Many reckonings!

Written by Niveah Glover, Directed by James F. Webb III

In the wake of their mother’s death, the Brown sisters—Margretta, June, and Sylvia—are forced to navigate grief, family, and their uncertain futures. As funeral plans unfold and memories resurface, so do deep tensions, long-held fears, and buried dreams. Callas is a powerful, heart centered portrait of Black womanhood, sisterhood, and survival. Set in a Brooklyn brownstone, in 1970 during the heat of a turbulent summer, the play captures a moment in time when both a family and a nation are at a crossroads.

A stirring, soul-filled drama with humor, heartbreak, and hope, Callas is a tribute to the women who hold families together and to those still learning to hold onto each other.
