ONCE ON THIS ISLAND

This powerful and moving musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a fearless young girl whose extraordinary love challenges the boundaries of class, tradition, and even the will of the gods.

Guided by the island’s powerful gods and surrounded by a community whose stories shape her world, Ti Moune sets out on an unforgettable journey that asks how far we are willing to go for love—and whether love can truly break down the walls that divide us.

Inspired by Caribbean culture and brought to life through an energetic score filled with rhythm, movement, storytelling, and heart, Once on This Island is a celebration of community and the power of one person’s story to live on long after they are gone.

Presented by the JAMS Black Box Theatre, this production brings together the talents of our JAMS youth alongside adult performers for a theatrical experience filled with music, dance, color, and powerful storytelling.

Come experience a story about love, courage, sacrifice, and the extraordinary journey of one girl who dares to challenge fate.
